The Early Days of Timbaland

Timbaland Early Days -Record Producer, Rapper, Singer, DJ

Timothy Zachery Mosley aka Timbaland was born on March 10, 1972 in Norfolk, Virginia. During high school Timbaland was a DJ known as “DJ Tim” or “DJ “Timmy Tim”. Over the years, Timbaland has permanently changed  R&B, Electronic music & Pop from his awesome production.

At the age of 15, Timbaland was accidentally shot by his co-worker at Red Lobster, leaving him paralyzed for 9 months.

During his time at Salem High School, Timbaland partnered up with several big names known today such as Pusha T and Pharrell Williams. Timbaland was then introduced to Missy Elliot by Magoo, a close friend and music partner. Next thing you know, they constantly worked on music together every night after school.

By 1992, Timbaland and Missy Elliott were signed to Devante Swing causing him to move to New York in Swing’s basement.

In 1996, Timbaland, Missy Elliot found themselves working with Aaliyah in what is now one of the most memorable sampled tracks “Are You That Somebody”. Timbalands production has caught the attention of the public of his manipulation of sounds and voices laid on a track.

After Aaliyah passed away in a plane crash. Timbaland was found lost and disappeared from the music industry in early 2000s. In 2006, Timbaland came back with a vengeance releasing Nelly Furtado’s Loose, Justin Timberlake’s Futuresex/Lovesounds and Shock Value albums  back to back.
